Arcadia Indoor Hitting Facility

About this project

Arcadia University plans a new indoor batting practice building at its campus at 450 South Easton Road in Cheltenham, placed at the edge of an existing ball field. The roughly 6,400-square-foot, 28-foot-tall building would be reached by a new paved path that ties into an existing sidewalk, with a stone wall, regrading and a rain garden. The campus covers more than 50 acres, but only about one acre would be disturbed, and total impervious cover on the property would rise to about 37%.

County planning commission: Supports, with comments

Issues raised: Rain garden maintenance requires foot access only, with no vehicle access, English Ivy growing on trees shown to remain
