Souderton HS - Synthetic Turf Fields

About this project

Souderton Area High School plans to replace the existing grass fields at Souderton High School with synthetic turf fields on the school's roughly 105-acre property off Lower Road in Franconia Township. The county planning commission generally supports the plan, but asks the township to set up a maintenance program for the underground stormwater detention system and to look for green stormwater features on the site later.

County planning commission: Supports, with comments

Issues raised: Loss of natural areas, Need for operation, inspection and maintenance program for underground stormwater detention, Opportunity for green stormwater infrastructure
